At UK Golden Cavaliers, Our Dogs Are Family

At UK Golden Cavaliers, we’re at the very start of our breeding journey — but our hearts are already full of love for this incredible crossbreed. Golden Cavaliers are still rare in the UK and we’re proud to be among the first breeders introducing them here.

We’re a small, family-run breeder who fell in love with the gentle Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the loyal Golden Retriever. By blending their best qualities, we raise Golden Cavalier puppies — sometimes lovingly called mini goldens — known for their affectionate nature, playful spirit, and gentle companionship.

For us, breeding isn’t about numbers — it’s about ethics, health, and family. Our Mummy dogs live in our home as part of our family, and every puppy is raised with a comprehensive puppy program, care, love and respect. We extensively health test our parent dogs and are committed to responsible breeding practices,

Every step we take is guided by care, integrity, and a commitment to setting the highest standard for this special crossbreed.

Our Philosophy

At the heart of everything we do is care, integrity, and responsibility. Breeding is more than pairing dogs — it’s about nurturing life, protecting bloodlines, and ensuring every puppy has the best possible start.

Health First

All our parent dogs are health tested to reduce hereditary risks. Crossbreeding alone does not eliminate health issues, which is why we take testing seriously. With first-generation crossbreeding, puppies often benefit from what’s known as hybrid vigour — making them stronger and healthier.

Early Socialisation

Our puppies are raised in our home, not kennels. From 3 days old through to adoption day at 8 weeks, each puppy takes part in our unique program:

  • Early neurological stimulation

  • Litter and crate training foundations

  • Manding (learning to sit politely)

  • Play-based learning and physical development with changing environments.

  • Exposure to family life, children, and everyday sounds

  • Noise desensitisation (both outdoors and indoors)

This hands-on approach helps each puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted family member setting them up for a successful integration into your world.. There really is a lot that goes into raising your puppy and few breeders offer this much early development, we believe it makes us stand out from the rest and we’re proud to provide it as part of your experience with UK Golden Cavaliers.

Ongoing Education

We are committed to learning and improving. With an Animal Welfare & Behaviour Level 3 Award, training in Puppy Culture and experience of whelping and raising litters, we continue to invest in our knowledge. We’re also grateful to be mentored by a highly regarded 5-star breeder and veterinary nurse of 15 years who lives 5 minutes away from us. We have a fantastic supportive relationship with our vets who are super excited to be on this journey with us. We have ourselves surrounded with support ensuring our puppies (and their families) always receive the very best care.

Licence Protocols & Insurance

We fully follow our Local Authority licensing and Animal Welfare Act requirements. Our owners can trust that we do things right. We have all the insurances available to us to make sure our public liability and most importantly, our dogs, have the best insurance policies in place.

Lifetime Support

Your journey doesn’t end on collection day. Our owners enjoy access to an informative WhatsApp group, a supportive Facebook community, and ongoing advice whenever needed. Once you become part of UK Golden Cavaliers, you have our support for life.
